Nine-and-a-half hour transatlantic flight. You know what they serve? BREAKFAST. That’s all.
We ate that six and a half hours ago. A tiny omelet and a roll. They keep coming by with beverages. Water. More water. Next time they come around, they’re gonna need to provide oxygen and IV drips to combat the ferocious drop in blood sugar among 200 passengers. Passengers who paid good money for this Guantanamo-like flight. I now have a pounding headache that could result in turbulence.
For God’s sake, there are children on this flight. And I hate children on airplanes. When I book a ticket and can choose my seat, I don’t give a damn about window or aisle. I just wish I could know where in advance the children are, and pick a seat as far from them as possible. Besides, is it really necessary they ride in the cabin with everyone else? There’s lots of room in the cargo hold. They can run and scream to their heart’s content and no one will even hear them.
But the situation is so severe that now even I feel sorry for the children. I don’t know much about children, but I think I’ve read somewhere that they require alimentation of some sort during extended periods of time. Otherwise they start to wilt. Which is exactly what they’ve done. Now they’re semiconscious, slumped down in their seats.
At least they’re quiet. I guess I should be grateful.
I have pals who were appalled that they had to pay for their infant’s seat on the plane.
Fuckers should have to pay 3X the adult fare.
Guess you shoulda gone for the giant box of duty-free chocolates. They’d be peeling your zit-riddled face off the ceiling of the plane by now, but at least you wouldn’t be hungry.
Rachel, when somebody makes you laugh and almost cry, as you do when I read what you write, I give thanks to life. The video that you posted and the lyrics are the best tribute that someone can makes to LIFE. Your vital attitude is so encouraging. I love it. Regarding Delta flights, we got so many discounts in other flights thanks to their delays, that we will able to see my aunt( flying with Delta) in Seattle for free this Christmas,and since we don’t trust in the company meal services, we will take, us often we do, our taper ware with our own food. I have to say that we have also known wonderful people on the airports ( children free) thanks to delays the flights.Thank you very, very, very, very, very much for your writings.
